Piet Grobler's fine art projects are always of a narrative nature and consist of narrative pictures reminiscent of Folk Art, more experimental projects – often involving post cards and collage – and interactive objects of steel and magnets:

• Narrative pictures, either in water colour and ink on hand made or etching paper or in mixed media in combination with collage.
• More experimental work eg Paint! do not draw and Bon voyage are post cards from a series of 50 cards/pages from a visual diary done as part of the MA Fine Arts study. Wolf! and Three fine
artists are from a series of 20 postcards exhibited at the Aardklop Arts Festival in 2007 as part of
a group project on creativity
• Interactive 3-D illustration created out of sheet metal, magnets and acrylic paint. The illustration could be altered as the images and words have been created on magnets. The narrative is based on Isabella Caramella, a poem by Dutch author Annie M.G.Schmidt
Narrative works on paper are being sold at Stellenbosch Art Gallery, Art and Wine Gallery in Clarens, Walker Bay Art Gallery in Hermanus and Tina Skukan Gallery in Pretoria. New work are being exhibited regularly at Hoi Hannelore! and other stories, Stellenbosch. |
