Presented a workshop: Visual communication – the use of illustration in corporate publications at the
   1996 annual congress of the Southern African Association of Industrial Editors, Wilderness
Was invited and sponsored to attend the BIB-Bratislava illustration workshop at Moravany, Slovakia
   1999
Presented a workshop for children on illustrating a book – Stellenbosch festival 1999
Presented a slide show on picture book illustration at the Chidren’s book event (organised by the
   Research Unit for Youth Literature, UNISA) at the Aardklop Art Festival, Potchefstroom, 1999
Presented a slide show and talk: What pictures should do – an illustrator’s view. Windhoek, Namibia at
   Namibia Children’s Book Forum symposium, 2001
Presented a series of 5 workshops to schoolchildren in March 2001 during the Klein Karoo National
   Arts Festival. Created a fantasy garden (three dimensional illustration or instellation)
Presented a slide show and talk: Let’s talk (work)shop at the IRSCL (International Research Society
   for Children’s Literature), 2001 International congress - Warmbaths, South Africa
Delivered a paper on African picture book illustration at the first meeting of the African Research
   Society for Children’s Literature, 2002 in Gaberone, Botswana.
Presented a workshop on illustration at the international IBBY congress, 2004, Capetown.
Presented a slide show and delivered a paper on a comparison between Dutch and African picture
   book illustration, Rotterdam. 2005
